About Paul James
Light is both the photographer's palette and brush. Harnessing available light is a skill learned through the study of technical theory and then applying it in the field. My goal as a photographer is to search out the images that interest me artistically, then once I have found the essence of that place I use composition and light to enhance the images. Each year I return to a few of these places with small groups to teach composition and light. The Old World and New World have much to offer me as a photographer. From a sunrise in Tuscany, Italy, to a sunset on the Virgin River capturing the light on the Watchman in Zion National Park in Utah, there is much beauty in the world. All one has to do is slow down and enjoy the journey.
